Quicker than a ray of light I’m flying
So I was discharged from the hospital yesterday. One of my doctors actually had me walk around for a bit. I looked like a baby taking his first steps. He then gave me a cane to use. That was much better. So I’ll be using that for a bit. A week, maybe? The doctor said I should be walking normally again in about two or three weeks. Which is completely unexpected. I thought I’d be using crutches for most of the recovery period.
The stitches come out on Monday. There will be outpatient physical therapy twice a week. For a while, anyway. Then things should get back to normal. Close to it, anyway.
I’m absolutely astonished by how much better I feel already. It’s unlikely I’ll still be using the cane next week. I’m having an easier time walking now than before the surgery. May even venture out tomorrow. There is a Halloween party on the Lower East Side to which I’ve been invited. And Project Bueller sounds very cool. Plus, there’s the parade to consider. I’ve never actually gone to it. Time to start, I think.
I feel good. Really good. Of course, that could be the percocet.
