Quicker than a ray of light I'm flying
So I was discharged from the hospital yesterday. One of my doctors actually had me walk around for a bit. I looked like a baby taking his first steps. He then gave me a cane to use. That was much better. So I’ll be using that for a bit. A week, maybe? The doctor said I should be walking normally again in about two or three weeks. Which is completely unexpected. I thought I’d be using...

Some thoughts on Season 2 (and Season 3) from 'Mad... →
This is a terrific (though lengthy) interview with Matthew Weiner that touches on just about all the major themes of Season 2. Extremely informative and well worth reading. Obviously, the article should only be read by people who’ve seen the season finale.

A priest came into my hospital room
“Accept Jesus Christ as your savior. As your physician. He’s never lost a case.” Really? Really? How about you get the fuck out my room? Father.

This isn’t going to be nearly as hard as last time. Pain is minimal. If Monday’s physical therapy goes well, I could be discharged early.

Just had a friend come by with coffee, doughnuts and an egg and cheese bagel. Best meal I’ve had in two days.

So as a result of last year’s hip injury, I’ve developed avascular necrosis. That means the blood supply to the hip is damaged. Without blood, the bone (femoral head or ball portion) will die. It looks like that’s already happened. So I need to have a partial hip replacement. A total hip replacement requires the hip socket to be replaced as well. My hip socket is fine and will...

Trey Parker and Matt Stone have some serious balls. This is brilliant. And so very wrong. Don’t want to spoil the clip for anyone who didn’t see it already. South Park’s mid-season premiere “The China Problem” aired last night and will be rerun tonight at 10 pm. Watch it. You can also see it here

Dear Dan,
I’m sorry CNN spoiled your comics reading. But you just did the same for everyone else. Bro, I didn’t know what was going to happen. Not until I saw your post. Why why why did you use the name of the dead character in your post heading? Arrgh.

John Slattery might be the best thing about “Mad Men.” That’s saying a lot. The show is amazing.
